Best AI Voice Agents 2026: Top 10 Platforms Ranked

TL;DR The best AI voice agent in 2026 depends on your use case, but the overall winner across price, voice quality, and ease of deployment is Retell AI for technical teams and Synthflow for no code builders. Bland AI takes the third spot for outbound. We tested all 10 platforms across 30+ live client deployments. If you want the winner deployed for you in 48 hours, CallSetter AI builds on top of Retell, Vapi, and Bland for service businesses.

How we ranked the platforms

Every platform on this list was scored on a 100 point scale across five criteria. We did not take vendor money. We did not run synthetic benchmarks. Every score comes from real call data on real client accounts.

  1. Price (25 points) Per minute cost, monthly platform fees, hidden charges for LLM and voice synthesis, free trial generosity.
  2. Voice quality (25 points) Naturalness, latency from end of caller speech to start of agent speech, ability to handle interruptions, breath sounds and emotional inflection.
  3. Features (20 points) Tool calling, native integrations, multilingual support, transfer to human, recording, transcripts, analytics.
  4. Ease of deployment (15 points) No code builder quality, documentation, time from signup to first live call, default templates.
  5. Support and reliability (15 points) Uptime over the past 90 days, support response time, community size, churn rate among our client base.

The full guide to what each criterion looks like in practice is in our AI voice agent features checklist.

The 2026 ranked list

1. Retell AI (94/100)

Best for: Technical teams that want full control without writing infrastructure code.

Retell AI is the platform we deploy on most often for inbound use cases. The voice quality is the closest to a real human in our blind tests. Latency clocks under 700 milliseconds end to end. Pricing is the cheapest in the category at $0.07 to $0.18 per minute depending on the LLM you pick. The downside is no native CRM integrations. You wire everything through webhooks or Zapier. Read our full Retell AI review for the detailed breakdown.

Pricing: $0.07 to $0.18 per minute. $10 free credit on signup.

2. Synthflow (89/100)

Best for: Small businesses that want a no code builder and 50+ native integrations.

Synthflow wins the no code category. The visual flow builder is the most polished in 2026, the templates cover the top 20 service business use cases out of the box, and the native integrations include Calendly, Cal.com, Google Calendar, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, and most popular CRMs. Voice quality is a step below Retell because Synthflow defaults to PlayHT, but you can swap to ElevenLabs for an extra fee. See the full Synthflow AI review.

Pricing: $0.13 to $0.20 per minute. Free trial included.

3. Bland AI (87/100)

Best for: Outbound calling campaigns and SMS combo flows.

Bland AI is the king of outbound. The dialer is the fastest in the category, the SMS integration is native, and the pricing model rewards high volume. Voice quality is a small step below Retell but the system prompt handling is excellent for outbound scripts. Compliance is on you. Read the full Bland AI review before launching outbound campaigns.

Pricing: $0.09 to $0.24 per minute. Free trial available.

4. Vapi (85/100)

Best for: Developers who want absolute control over every layer of the stack.

Vapi is the most flexible code first platform on the market. You pick your own ASR, LLM, and TTS provider. You wire your own tools. You write your own server side handlers. The result is a voice agent built exactly the way you want it, but the build time is the longest in the category at 40 to 80 hours for the first deployment. Read our full Vapi AI review.

Pricing: $0.05 to $0.20 per minute, plus your own LLM and TTS bills.

5. Voiceflow (82/100)

Best for: Conversation designers who already use Voiceflow for chatbots.

Voiceflow added voice agents in 2024 and the platform now does both chat and voice from the same canvas. If your team already has Voiceflow conversation designers, the learning curve is zero. Voice quality is solid but not best in class. The native integration with Twilio is excellent. Full Voiceflow review covers the chat to voice conversion path.

Pricing: $0.10 to $0.18 per minute on the voice tier.

6. Air AI (76/100)

Best for: Long form sales conversations that last 20+ minutes.

Air AI is unique in 2026 for one reason. It is the only platform we tested that can hold a coherent sales conversation for 30 minutes without going off the rails. The downside is price. At $0.20 to $0.40 per minute it is two to four times the cost of Retell. Worth it for high value sales calls. Overkill for appointment booking. Full Air AI review.

Pricing: $0.20 to $0.40 per minute. No free trial.

7. PolyAI (71/100)

Best for: Enterprise contact centers with 100,000+ calls per month.

PolyAI is the enterprise option. The platform requires a six figure annual contract, a multi week onboarding, and a dedicated CSM. For Fortune 500 contact centers it is the right call. For everyone else it is overkill.

Pricing: Custom enterprise contracts only.

8. ElevenLabs Conversational AI (69/100)

Best for: Teams that already use ElevenLabs for voice cloning.

ElevenLabs launched their conversational AI product in late 2024. The voice quality is the best on the market because they own the underlying TTS. The platform itself is younger than competitors and the integration ecosystem is thinner. Worth watching closely as they ship updates.

Pricing: $0.08 to $0.15 per minute on top of ElevenLabs subscription.

9. Hume AI EVI (66/100)

Best for: Use cases where emotional intelligence matters more than raw efficiency.

Hume AI’s Empathic Voice Interface does something no other platform does. It detects the emotional state of the caller and adjusts the agent’s tone accordingly. For mental health intake, customer recovery, or grief support calls, it is the best option in 2026. For booking dental appointments it is overkill.

Pricing: $0.12 to $0.22 per minute.

10. Rasa Voice (62/100)

Best for: Open source teams that want to self host.

Rasa is the only platform on this list you can self host on your own infrastructure. That matters for regulated industries with strict data residency requirements. The tradeoff is that you handle all the operational work. Voice quality depends on the TTS provider you wire in.

Pricing: Open source. Infrastructure costs vary.

How to pick the right one for your business

ai voice agents

Skip the analysis paralysis. Use this decision tree.

You answer 50 to 500 inbound calls a month and want it live this month. Pick Synthflow if you want to build it yourself or hire CallSetter AI to do it on Retell.

You run cold outbound campaigns at scale. Pick Bland AI. Nothing else comes close on outbound throughput.

You have a developer who has shipped voice flows before. Pick Retell or Vapi. Retell if you want speed and Vapi if you want flexibility.

You need long form sales conversations. Pick Air AI. Budget for the higher per minute cost.

You work in an enterprise contact center. Pick PolyAI or talk to the Retell enterprise team.

You have HIPAA, GDPR, or strict data residency requirements. Pick Rasa self hosted or sign a BAA with Retell, Vapi, or Bland.

What changed since the 2025 list

If you read our 2025 ranking, here is what shifted.

Retell AI moved from #3 to #1. They dropped pricing twice in 2025 and shipped a new voice model in February 2026 that closed the gap with ElevenLabs at half the cost.

Air AI dropped from #2 to #6. Their voice quality has not improved as fast as the rest of the category and the price stayed high. Still the best for long form but no longer the default.

Synthflow climbed from #5 to #2. The 2026 version of their visual builder is genuinely best in class. They also added 30+ native integrations in the last 12 months.

ElevenLabs entered the top 10. They launched conversational AI in late 2024 and ranked #8 in their first year.

Bland AI moved from #4 to #3. Outbound is having a moment in 2026 and Bland is the platform built for it.

The 2025 winners that fell off the list entirely were Vocode (acquired and shut down) and Dasha AI (pivoted to a different category).
